A solid effort from the author and a romping read! I really enjoyed the writing style and the pacing. I wish some of the supporting characters were a little more fleshed out, but it’s a jam-packed story as it is. I really appreciate the author’s efforts to incorporate Canadian history and Metis culture throughout the narrative. Part historical romance, part Western, part warfare drama, Black Grass is an adventurous and fun celebration of Canadiana!
